Upstate New York jam-rockers moe. have confirmed a 2017 Spring Tour. The newly added dates follow their upcoming Winter Tour and Jam Cruise 15 appearance.
The band will play a home state gig on March 4 at F Shed At The Market in Syracuse. They’ll then perform in Montclair, New Jersey at the Wellmont Theatre on March 30 and at College Street Music Hall in New Haven, Connecticut on March 31. An April Fool’s Day show will be held at The Paramount in Huntington, New York ahead of four nights at The Sinclair in Cambridge, Massachusetts April 5 – 8.
When asked about the best parts of playing long runs at one venue versus traditional touring, guitarist Al Schnier responded, “It gives all of us, the band and fans, a chance to set up shop and really enjoy a city for the weekend. It’s also particularly cool to really dig into the music and see that evolve over the course of a residency. Something different happens that doesn’t really work when you move from town to town every night.”
Spring Tour resumes with moe.’s three appearances in New Orleans during Jazz Fest beginning at Le Petit Theatre on April 27. The Crescent City will also host moe. along with support from Turkuaz on April 28 and 29 at The Civic Theatre.
“Jazz Fest is like no other Festival in the world,” added Schnier. “The food is almost better than the music and the music is some of the best in the world. It’s an amazing confluence of energy that needs to be experienced.”
A pre-sale for Spring Tour 2017 is currently underway via moe. ticketing. Tomorrow, the band begins the inaugural “Famoe.ly Holiday Concert” series in Port Chester, New York. Up first for the group is a visit to The Capitol Theatre on Saturday followed by an acoustic brunch set at the cozy confines of Garcia’s on Sunday.
