Modest Mouse Announces First New Album Since 2007

It’s been quite a while since we’ve heard new studio material from Modest Mouse, who last released a new full-length studio effort way back in 2007 with We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank. Today that changes as The Current has premiered “Lampshades On Fire,” the first new Modest Mouse single in eight years.

“Lampshades On Fire” comes off Strangers to Ourselves, the band’s new album, which is due on March 3 via Epic Records. Modest Mouse has been performing “Lampshades On Fire” live for a few years now. Our friends at Future Heart have compiled live versions of the songs on Strangers to Ourselves that Modest Mouse has performed in the past such as “Lampshades On Fire”:
