Mike Gordon Among The Claypool Lennon Delirium Guests In New Orleans

By Scott Bernstein May 3, 2019 10:01 am PDT

The Claypool Lennon Delirium welcomed a number of guests including Phish bassist Mike Gordon to share the stage on Thursday night at the Civic Theatre in New Orleans. Les Claypool and Sean Ono Lennon‘s band also jammed with saxophonist Skerik and percussionist Mike Dillon last night.

Gordon emerged with The Claypool Lennon Delirium on “Tomorrow Never Knows,” a song written by Sean’s father John Lennon and Paul McCartney for inclusion on The Beatles’ 1966 album Revolver. Les and Mike’s on-stage relationship dates back to May 28, 1994, when the Primus bassist and the Phish bassist engaged in bass duel as part of “You Enjoy Myself” at the Laguna Seca Daze Festival in Monterey, California. Both Skerik and Mike Dillon are part of Claypool’s Bastard Jazz ensemble.
