Maggie Rose hit Nashville’s Eastside Bowl for her hometown “No One Gets Out Alive Halloween Bash” on Thursday. Phish bassist Mike Gordon made a guest appearance, playing on a pair of covers and making a cameo on Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”
No One Gets Out Alive is the title of Maggie Rose’s 2024 album. Rose kicked off her Halloween set with the record’s “Dead Weight.” All told, Maggie and her band performed most of the album including standouts “Under the Sun,” “Fake Flowers” and “Underestimate Me.” Additional Maggie Rose fan-favorites included “Saint” and “What Makes You Tick.”

Rose also had some fun covers in store for the Halloween concert, including Led Zeppelin’s “Black Dog.” Maggie’s song “Smooth” contained teases of Edgar Winter’s “Frankenstein.”
Phish bassist Mike Gordon knows a thing or two about “Frankenstein,” and emerged after the “Smooth” performance to play bass on The Cranberries’ “Zombie.” Mike was also featured on The Allman Brothers Band classic “Whipping Post,” channeling Berry Oakley’s iconic low end on the song. Gordon recently joined Rose for “Whipping Post” at Nectar’s in Burlington, Vermont.
Maggie Rose and her band went it alone to wrap the set with the title track to No One Gets Out Alive. Maggie and company returned to conclude the concert with “Thriller.” The iconic MJ song was led by opener Billy Allen with Rose adding vocals as well before heading into the audience for the “Thriller” dance. Mike also returned to deliver the spooky Vincent Price monologue.
