Mike Dillon & Punkadelick Release Pastoral ‘Pandas’ Single And Announce 2023 Tour Dates

Mike Dillon & Punkadelick shared a new single, “Pandas,” set to land on the supergroup’s forthcoming album, Inflorescence, due out on January 27 via Royal Potato Family. Mike Dillon, Nikki Glaspie and Brian Haas also detailed headlining and support dates set for Winter and Spring 2023.

Mike Dillon & Punkadelick announced their debut LP Inflorescence in November and shared the single, “Devil’s Playground.” The trio now follows with “Pandas,” which saw Dillon reflecting on the precarious plight of both the natural world but also humankind.

“‘Pandas’ was composed in my apartment above Checkpoint Charlie’s off Frenchman Street in New Orleans,” Dillon noted. “I had been meditating on the destruction of natural habitats for human convenience all the while painfully aware of the homeless situation in our own cities. So you might say the song is a meditation on the helpless nature of the panda bear’s imminent demise, but also a metaphor for our own social fabric hanging by a thread.”

Mike Dillon & Punkadelick will hit the road for a string of headline shows early next year beginning on January 4 in Kansas City. The headlining run will also see the trio in Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Little Rock, Arkansas; St. Louis, Missouri and Fairfield, Iowa throughout January. On February 1 the trio hits Raleigh, North Carolina followed by stops in Charleston, South Carolina; Asheville, North Carolina and Jacksonville, Florida. Punkadelik then hops on Jam Cruise 19 February 6 – 12.

Following shows supporting lespecial and Spafford in Southwest Colorado, Punkadelick comes to Crested Butte on February 22 and on to Denver. After a couple weeks off, the trio has a show in Jersey City on March 10. Punkadelick then jumps on tour with Marco Benevento in Philadelphia ahead of East Coast and Midwest support dates. Mike Dillon & Punkadelick wrap things up with a headlining show in Dunedin, Florida on March 25.
