Mikal Cronin gears up for the release of Seeker by unveiling the video for album track “I’ve Got Reason.” Cronin’s Seeker is due out on October 25 via Merge.
The California native previously shared Seeker singles “Show Me” and “Shelter.” For the “I’ve Got Reason” video, Mikal tapped Daniel Murphy to create visuals that are combined with live footage captured by Cronin. “This song runs through a mess of confusing interactions in a world that gets stranger all the time,” said Cronin of his new single. “Musically it’s got some Beatles and some Nirvana, with a bendy mellotron line that helps tie the worlds together.”

Cronin penned most of the material on the album during a month he spent in the small southern California mountain town of Idyllwild. Mikal then started recording Seeker at Palmetto Studios in Los Angeles with engineer Jason Quever and a group of close friends. Cronin was backed by Ty Segall’s Freedom Band on the 10-track follow-up to 2015’s MCIII.
