Watch Mihali & lespecial’s Johnny G Cover Dispatch Classic At Pickle Barrel Residency Finale

Mihali wrapped his Winter Sessions residency at the Pickle Barrel Nightclub in the ski town of Killington, Vermont on Sunday. The finale saw Mihali & Frends featuring members of Twiddle, lespecial and more covering Dispatch followed by a Twiddle staple.

The encore got underway with Mihali and lespecial guitarist Johnny G performing Dispatch’s “The General,” off the Vermont-born band’s 1997 album Bang Bang. “Me and Johnny have been talking about playing this song forever,” Mihali said ahead of the performance. “So we’re gonna give it the old college try here. If you know the words, sing along.”

Mihali & Frends — which also included Twiddle bassist Zdenek Gubb and drummer Adrian Tramantano, along with keyboardist Scott Hannay, saxophonist Mike Oehman and trumpeter Mike Bafundo launched the concert with Mihai’s “Wise Man.”

The concert also included Mihali solo tunes like “Digital Heaven” “Maplewood” and “Living Is The Lesson.” Additional covers included Stone Temple Pilots “Plush” and Dave Matthews Band’s “Two Step.” Mihal & Frends wappred the second set with Talking Heads’ “Girlfriend Is Better.” Following “The General,” Mihali led the band through Twiddle’s “Lost In The Cold.”
