Michael Stipe Performs With James Franco & Stephen Colbert On ‘The Late Show’

Guests on last night’s episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert included actor James Franco and musician Michael Stipe of R.E.M. Host Stephen Colbert and the pair of guests came together for a special musical performance of a reworked R.E.M. classic.
The R.E.M. hit “It’s The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)” off the band’s 1987 album Document was reworked and retitled “It’s The End Of The Year As We Know It And I Feel …” for last night’s performance. The updated lyrics focused on the newsworthy events that occurred throughout 2016 with matching images flashing on a screen behind them.
