Michael McDonald Performs ‘Tiny Desk (Home) Concert’

Michael McDonald performed a Tiny Desk (Home) Concert from his home studio. The legendary singer-songwriter and keyboardist delivered songs from the Doobie Brothers catalog as well as a tune from his 1993 album Blink Of An Eye.

McDonald kicked off the session from behind the piano — framed by Tiny Desk artwork he created — with 1993’s “Matters Of The Heart.” McDonald continued with the title track from the Doobie’s 1978 album Minute By Minute. Next up, the famed keyboardist — struck by the gravity of the situation — encouraged everyone at home to sing along on the classic “What A Fool Believes” to close out the session.

“If you know the words, sing along with me at home,” McDonald said. “I won’t know if you’re singing well or not because I can’t hear you here.” Watch the entire performance below:
