mgk appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and performed a medley of songs from his album, Lost Americana, which comes out this Friday, August 8. The visit to 30 Rock also featured mgk sitting for an interview with host Jimmy Fallon and playing “Telestrations” with fellow guests, actors Chris Pratt and Rose Byrne.
Fallon asked mgk about landing Bob Dylan to narrate the trailer that announced Lost Americana, which was shown to the audience. In February, Dylan randomly shared a video of mgk performing in Florida several years ago. mgk had no explanation for Dylan’s meaningful show of appreciation.
Fallon also asked mgk about some of his social media posts, which led to the latter showing off his spot-on Jim Carrey impersonations. Monday’s episode included Fallon hosting a “Telestrations” segment with mgk, Pratt and Byrne playing the Pictionary-like game.
The musical portion of the show saw mgk offering a medley of two Lost Americana tracks. The performance began with the pending album’s opening track, “outlaw overture,” and segued into the single, “vampire diaries.”
