Chicago sextet Umphrey’s McGee concluded a swing through the Pacific Northwest last night with the finale of a two-night stand at Crystal Ballroom in Portland, Oregon. Umphrey’s has been touring with TAUK through the beginning of 2016 and welcomed members of their opening act for a Talking Heads cover as part of last night’s show.

TAUK’s A.C. Carter (keyboards) and Isaac Teel (percussion) emerged towards the middle of Sunday night’s second set to assist on “Making Flippy Floppy.” Umphrey’s hadn’t performed the Talking Heads cover in 50 shows as the last UM “Making Flippy Floppy” took place on July 19, 2015 in Baltimore. Last night’s show also featured rarity “Space Funk Booty” and guitarists Jake Cinninger and Brendan Bayliss utilizing acoustics for “Gone For Good” and “Fearless.” The latter was a Pink Floyd cover that returned to action after a whopping 177 shows (last time played – May 4, 2014).

Umphrey’s now heads to Colorado for three nights in Aspen starting Thursday.
