Gov’t Mule’s current run of shows with support from The Magpie Salute continued Sunday night at Carl Black Chevy Woods Amphitheater in Whites Creek, Tennessee. The evening once again ended with members of the opening act joining the headliners for a collaborative encore.

Gov’t Mule played a standalone set Sunday, working their way through “Railroad Boy” and “Mule” to open their performance. Mule also delivered favorites such as “Whisper In Your Soul” and “Captured” as “Game Face” with its common insertion of The Allman Brothers Band’s “Mountain Jam” within. The set also featured a cover of the ABB’s “Kind Of Bird” and a take on Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Effigy” that contained a “Folsom Prison Blues” jam. Frontman Warren Haynes selected Al Green’s “I’m A Ram” to close out Mule’s main set.

The encore included the assistance of The Magpie Salute guitarists Rich Robinson and Marc Ford, vocalist John Hogg, keyboardist Matt Slocum and bassist Sven Pipien (replacing Mule bassist Jorgen Carlsson) on a cover of The Rolling Stones’ “Ventilator Blues.” Carlsson replaced Pipien for the final number of the night, a take on Faces’ “Stay With Me.”
