Anenon: Tongue

After a couple of weeks off (sorry!), RecommNeds is back to mellow your mood a bit. Relax and open your mind with this wonderful new ambient music. We’ll start with Anenon, who is Brian Allen Simon. His new record is Tongue and it is a thing of slow-moving, soul-tingling beauty. Mixing elements of jazz and classical, acoustic and electric, each track sparkles with lovely bits of melody. If you’re feeling stressed or anxious or just need a reset, this is your album.

E Ruscha V: Who Are You

Without raising your blood pressure too much, I’ll move on to the second rec, which is Who Are You from E Ruscha V, which is the alias of Eddie Ruscha who, like Anenon, hails from Los Angeles. His first album under this name, Who Are You is a no-worries-in-the-world affair of gentle-groove synthesizer. Despite the supremely easygoing vibes, there is still plenty to dive into here, a universe of space for your mind to wander within. Equally appropriate for background music when you’re chilling with friends or deep solo headphone meditations. I think you’ll dig it.

Mind Over Mirrors: Bellowing Sun

Finally, I present to you the new album from Jaime Fennelly who creates music under the name Mind Over Mirrors. A return customer here at the Weekly RecommNeds, his just-out newest LP Bellowing Sun is probably his best work yet. The album is an immersive journey of synthesized sounds, like a virtual reality exhibit for your ears. Utilizing acoustic and electric synthesizers and all points in between, Fennelly has expanded his palette of sounds and taken his music to the next level. There’s a lot of magic to be discovered in here, one of my favorite releases of the year. Enjoy!
