Maygen & The Birdwatcher Announce The Leap Year Tour

Minneapolis-based Maygen & The Birdwatcher are looking forward to their 2024 Leap Year Tour. With two shows under their belt, the Americana act continues through their native Midwest in March, April and May.

Maygen & The Birdwatcher — guitarists Maygen Lacey and Noah Neumann, multi-instrumentalist Nik Pellinen, bassist Ethan Moravec, mandolinist-fiddler Jesse Moravec and drummer Peter Anderson — began their Leap Year Tour fittingly on February 29 in Minneapolis.

The band is touring around their forthcoming Leap Year EP and a fresh reimagined single track being released this Friday, March 22, 2024 – “Full Moons Leap Year Session.” These releases are Maygen & The Birdwatcher’s first new music since their acclaimed 2022 five-song set, Bootleggin’ at the Flower Shoppe, and their 2023 single “Where Good Things Grow” — the latter a collaboration with the South Dakota Grassland Coalition in a public service campaign to protect the Dakota Grasslands.

Maygen & The Birdwatcher’s Leap Year Tour continues on March 21 at Milwaukee’s Ope! Brewing. Shows in Appleton, Wisconsin and Arlington Heights, Illinois follow. On April 5, the band will then perform for 89.3FM The Current’s Minnesota Music Month at the Turf Club in St. Paul (Get Tickets).

Following a slot at River Falls, Wisconsin’s Bluegrass, Bourbon & Brews Festival on April 19, Maygen & The Birdwatcher will perform at the Midwest Country Music Awards Show in Arnolds Park, Iowa where the the 2023 Album of the Year and Americana Artist winners are up for an award for “Where Good Things Grow” and 2024 Entertainer of the Year.

A pair of performances at Clive, Iowa’s Greenbelt Music Festival are up next on May 17 and 18 ahead of a show in Viroqua, Wisconsin. Maygen & The Birdwatcher are set to perform at the Blue Ox Music Festival in Eau Claire, Wisconsin in June among other festival plays.
