Mavis Staples’ new album We Get By is available to stream through NPR Music’s First Listen series. Produced and written by Ben Harper, We Get By is set to arrive on May 24 via Anti- Records.

The 79-year-old Staples and Harper previously collaborated on the track “Love And Trust,” which appeared on Staples’ 2016 album, Livin’ On A High Note. The 11-track We Get By follows Staples’ live album, Live In London, that came out earlier this year.

“These songs are delivering such a strong message,” Staples stated. “We truly need to make a change if we want this world to be better.”
