Country/bluegrass legend Marty Stuart and his longtime band The Fabulous Superlatives recently came to NPR Music’s Washington D.C. headquarters for a Tiny Desk Concert. The quartet performed older favorites along with a track from their 2023 album, Altitude.

Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives — guitarist Kenny Vaughan, bassist Chris Scruggs and drummer Harry Stinson — began their Tiny Desk with the title track from their 1991 album, “Tempted.”

NPR Music detailed Marty’s performance.

Looking around the room during his Tiny Desk performance, people in the audience were visibly captivated by this undeniable demonstration of musical excellence — beautiful harmonies, precise rhythmic precision and perfectly blended arrangements all sewn together with a casual flair that was simple and fun.

The quartet continued with “Streamline” from 2014’s Saturday Night / Sunday Morning, which saw Marty putting down the guitar and picking up a mandolin. Next came Altitude’s “Tomahawk” before the band returned to Saturday Night / Sunday Morning with gorgeous gosepl harmonies on “Heaven” to seal the session.
