Mark Knopfler Offers ‘So Far Away’ Tour Debut In Prague
By Scott Bernstein Jun 27, 2019 • 8:06 am PDT

Former Dire Straits frontman Mark Knopfler had a big surprise to end his concert on Wednesday night at Prague’s 02 Arena. Knopfler concluded the show with the tour debut of Dire Straits’ “So Far Away.”
The guitarist and his Dire Straits band mates released “So Far Away” on their 1985 album, Brothers In Arms. Knopfler last performed the song on October 31, 2015 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. “So Far Away” came as the second song of a second encore that also included “Piper To The End.” The rest of the setlist was similar to others on Mark’s 2019 run, which was a mix of solo gems, Dire Straits classics and select cuts from Knopfler’s 2018 album, Down The Road Wherever.
