Margo Price, John Oates and Buddy Miller sat-in with Bob Weir and Wolf Bros Monday night at The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. The collaborations occurred throughout the second of two sets performed at the historic venue.

Guitarist Bob Weir led his band mates, drummer Jay Lane and bassist Don Was, through an opening set that began with the Grateful Dead’s “Hell In A Bucket.” Next came Merle Haggard’s “Mama Tried,” followed by “Only A River” from Weir’s Blue Mountain solo album. A cover of Bob Dylan’s “She Belongs To Me” came before a string of Dead classics, “Tennessee Jed,” “Black-Throated Wind” and the set-closing “Lost Sailor” > “Saint of Circumstance.”

The second set started with Oates and Miller overcoming some feedback issues to accompany the trio on the tour’s first cover of Mississippi John Hurt’s “My Creole Belle.” Oates stuck around to augment “Friend Of The Devil.” Price then emerged to add guitar and vocals to a cover of Kris Kristofferson’s “Me And Bobby McGee.” After “Easy Answers” and an expansive “Eyes Of The World,” Miller came back for Hank Williams’ “You Win Again.” The trio took on “New Speedway Boogie” and then brought Miller back for a final sit-in on “Days Between.”

The set ended with the late-career Dead favorites “Throwing Stones” and “Touch Of Grey.” On the eve of Election Day, Bobby and his Wolf Bros encored with “U.S. Blues.” The group’s inaugural tour continues tonight at Louisville Palace Theatre in Louisville, Kentucky.
