Marcus King made his The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon debut on Wednesday. King was backed by an expanded lineup of The Marcus King Band for a performance of “Wildflowers & Wine.”
“Wildflowers & Wine” appears on Marcus’ debut studio album, El Dorado, which was released back in January. The guitarist was joined by a number of MKB members for the remote performance of the song that premiered on Fallon and a pair of vocalists including Maggie Rose.

King’s Tonight Show performance was filmed at 3rd & Lindsley in Nashville. Marcus ended the rendition of “Wildflowers & Wine” with a tease of “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town” in keeping with the holiday spirit.
Read a note from Marcus explaining the genesis of “Wildflowers & Wine”:
driving from South Carolina to see a girl in Virginia. Stopping only to grab a bottle of red wine, and to pick some wildflowers by the interstate. With some help from Dan Auerbach and Ronnie Bowman, the song really came to life lyrically. This is one of my favorite memories and I’m so happy to share it with you.
