Watch Marcus King Go Acoustic For ‘Mood Swings’ Deep Cuts On KXT

See the guitarist on stripped-down takes of “Bipolar Love” and “Save Me.”

Marcus King recently delivered a session for the Dallas/Fort Worth area’s KXT. The guitarist and singer-songwriter offered stripped-down takes on songs from his 2024 album, Mood Swings.

King’s latest LP arrived on April 5 via American/Republic Records. Helmed by Rick Rubin, the Mood Swings sessions saw the renowned producer helping Marcus work through a difficult time.

“He helped me view mental health as a writing partner in a way,” King said of the Rubin collaboration. “I’ve learned it can give me that creative spark.”

“I love the way listening to this album makes me feel,” Rubin added on Mood Swings. “I can’t think of another project quite like this one. Marcus’s playing and singing are from another planet.”

King brought a couple deeper Mood Swings cuts to KXT. Marcus offered solo acoustic renditions of “Bipolar Love” and “Save Me.” Watch the performances below:
