The fourth annual Wheels Of Soul Tour is well underway with three stops held over the past three nights. Each Wheels Of Soul ’18 features sets from headliners the Tedeschi Trucks Band as well as Drive-By Truckers and The Marcus King Band. Sunday’s concert at Volvo Car Stadium in Charleston, South Carolina came to a close with a TTB encore in which the 12-piece was aided by special guest Marcus King.

King led his band through a brief set to kick off the Sunday afternoon action. Then came a performance from the Drive-By Truckers ahead of the Tedeschi Trucks Band’s headlining set in Charleston. Susan Tedeschi led the group through the recently revived cover of Derek & The Dominos’ “Tell The Truth” to start. A pairing of originals “Part Of Me” and “Laugh About It” followed before Susan fronted a rendition of Leonard Cohen’s “Bird On A Wire.” The TTB set rolled on with a fierce “Let Me Get By” and covers of Bob Dylan’s “Down In The Flood” and Tom Petty’s “You Don’t Know How It Feels.”

Next up was “Midnight In Harlem,” a showcase for guitarist Derek Trucks. The TTB went on to play “Shame,” one of their newest originals, ahead of a set-closing sequence of their own “Get What You Deserve” and Joe Cocker’s “Space Captain.” Marcus King took the stage with the Tedeschi Trucks Band for the evening’s encore. King showed off his skills on both Sleepy John Estes’ “Leaving Trunk” and “Show Me” by Joe Tex.
