Keyboardist Marco Benevento confirmed a 13-date winter tour to start 2020. Benevento also unveiled the video for “Send It On A Rocket,” a song from his recently released Let It Slide LP.

Marco kicks off the tour in Texas at the Parish in Austin on January 16 and at Houston’s Last Concert Cafe on January 17. From there, Benevento brings his band to New Orleans, Birmingham, Knoxville, Asheville, Carrboro (North Carolina), Charlotte, Charleston and Atlanta. Then, the keyboardist heads to Colorado for concerts in Fort Collins on February 6, Crested Butte on February 7 and Denver on February 8.

A pre-sale using the code “LetItSlide” starts on Thursday, October 3 at 10 a.m. local time. Tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday, October 4.

Benevento tapped Qieer Wang to create an animated video for Let It Slide’s “Send It On A Rocket.” Here’s what Marco told Brooklyn Vegan, who premiered the video, about the resulting clip:

I hooked up with Qieer (pronounced “Cheer”) through Amy Hood (check her out!) who was in our video “Dropkick” from a few years back. I was immediately drawn into the abstract expression of her animation and completely blown away by the kaleidoscopic color of her videos, which I felt went hand in hand with “Send It On A Rocket” — our psychedelic ear candy pop song. This song was recorded in two studios, Diamond Mine (Leon Michels) and Fred Short (my home studio), and it’s the perfect balance of both worlds: mine, a complete mess of synths and other sonic toys, and Leon’s, a warm, fuzzy blanket of vintage studio gear.
