One of the jam scene’s biggest bands, in terms of the number of members, is MarchFourth. Early next month, the group will host their 15th Annual MarchForth Spectacular and ahead of the concerts have unveiled an animated video for “Magic Number.”
The concerts will take place March 3 and 4 at Crystal Ballroom in M4B’s hometown of Portland, Oregon. On the 3rd, the band will play a family matinee with Joy Now and then an all-ages show with High Step Society. Then, on the 4th, MarchForth presents their birthday spectacular with Diego’s Umbrella.

MarchFourth recruited Ben Ellman of Galactic to produce “Magic Number” with the video by Jefferson Thomas. The clip was recorded at The Parlor in New Orleans. “The video has an awesome retro feel. There’s something about what the animator did that struck a totally unexpected chord with me. I loved Rocky and Bullwinkle (the intro with the crude lightning, Fractured Fairy Tales, etc) and this feels like a nod to that style,” said the song’s composer, John Averill, in a statement.
