Mandy Moore will release a new album entitled In Real Life on May 13 through Verve Forecast. The Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter shared the LP’s title track lead single and confirmed tour dates in support of her seventh full-length album.
Moore’s last full length was her 2020 album, Silver Landings, which came over a decade after the 2009 release of Amanda Leigh. Longtime collaborator Mike Viola once again produced In Real Life. The new album also again features contributions from Moore’s husband, Dawes frontman Taylor Goldsmith.
Others joining Moore across the record’s 11 tracks include Taylor’s Dawes bandmate/brother, drummer Griffin Goldsmith, as well as keyboardist Lee Pardini and bassist Sebastian Steinberg. Vocalists Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig of Lucius were also recruited for the sessions.

Moore shared the following statement regarding In Real Life:
“So much of this record came from future-tripping on the next chapter of my life and what it might look like: what parenthood would feel like, how it would change everything, and all the excitement and trepidation that comes with that. At the same time it was about celebrating and acknowledging where we were at the moment and really trying to be completely present in the everyday — which is maybe the hardest part of the human condition.
“To me it’s all about staying open, staying aware, staying sensitive and empathetic to the people around me. There’s something about expressing myself through lyrics and melody that makes me feel whole, and I see it as a privilege to have that outlet. And even though this album is very specific to me and my experience — there’s songs about my baby, my husband, my father, my friends — I hope everyone’s able to see their own lives in it. I hope they’re able to come along on the journey with me, and put themselves in the driver’s seat.”
Moore will embark on a 26-show tour in support of In Real Life, marking her first headlining tour in over a decade. The tour begins on June 10 in Atlanta and continues across the United States and Candada with a final performance slated for July 24 at the Newport Folk Festival in Newport, Rhode Island.
