Organ Fairchild delivered a late night set at the Flood City Music Festival in Johnstown, Pennsylvania on Friday. The Buffalo-based instrumental trio welcomed singer Maggie Rose and her bandmate guitarist Kyle Lewis for a sizzling rendition of the Allman Brothers’ “Whipping Post.”
Organ Fairchild — drummer Corey Kertzie, guitarist Dave Ruch and keyboardist Joe Bellanti — opened up their set with the swampy rocker “Get The Scotch Out” from their 2021 debut LP, Brewed In Buffalo. Next up, the breezy groove of “Glad You’re Here,” off the band’s 2023 album, Leisure Suit.

The trio then welcomed Maggie Rose and Kyle Lewis for “Whipping Post.” The Allman Brothers favorite saw a powerhouse vocal performance by Rose and smoking guitar from Lewis. Ruch and Lewis also teamed for some classic ABB “guitarmonies” ahead of a slow-boiled, soaring ride from Ruch. Watch the performance below:
Organ Fairchild then went it alone for a cover of the Grateful Dead’s “Feel Like A Stranger.” The trio returned to their debut record with “Cherry Tomatoes” and “Bailar” along with an additional cover of the Isley Brothers-popularized “Twist and Shout,” done in the style of late steel guitar great David Lindley.
Organ Fairchild wrapped the set by stretching out on Leisure Suit cut, “Chamelonious Monk.” Listen to the full concert below via taper Matt Frano:
