Don’t Forget Me arrives on April 12 via Capitol Records. Maggie Rogers previously shared the LP’s introspective title track and an accompanying video. “I wanted to make an album that sounded like a Sunday afternoon,” said Rogers of an album she co-produced with Ian Fitchuk. “Worn in denim. A drive in your favorite car. No make up, but the right amount of lipstick. Something classic. The mohair throw and bottle of Whiskey in Joan Didion’s motel room. An old corvette. Vintage, but not overly Americana. I wanted to make an album to belt at full volume alone in your car, a trusted friend who could ride shotgun and be there when you needed her.”
Maggie Rogers launches Part 1 of The Don’t Forget Me Tour on May 23 with a concert at San Diego’s Gallagher Square at Petco Park. The Japanese House then comes aboard as support beginning in Phoenix on May 24. The month-long excursion features stops at such amphitheaters as Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado; Everwise Amphitheater at White River State Park in Indianapolis; BMO Pavilion in Milwaukee; Ameris Bank Amphitheatre in Alpharetta, Georgia and Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland among others. Rogers will perform at Bonnaroo on June 14 and ends the trek on June 22 at Bayfront Park in Miami.
