Madison House Presents and AEG Live are aiming to throw a four-day music festival that is expected to host 20,000 on a ranch outside Buena Vista, Colorado August 4 – 7. The Denver Post reports commissioners in Chaffee County, Colorado “appear poised to OK” Madison House Presents & AEG Live’s proposal for what may turn into an annual event.
“I don’t see having challenges we could not overcome. I have faith in Madison House that is well earned that they can do what needs to be done,” Chaffee County Commissioner Dave Potts said at a meeting in Buena Vista yesterday according to the Denver Post. Last year Madison House Presents put on a successful two-day Mumford & Sons Gentlemen Of The Road festival in nearby Salida. The Denver Post’s report goes on to say organizers of the event are not yet ready to announce the festival’s headliners yet, “but promised bands that would attract a wide range of ages.”
The next step is for Chaffee County commissioners to approve the proposal which could come at a meeting in early March. A lineup for the festival would follow “a few weeks later.” Look for the music to run to 1 a.m. on the first and last days of the proposed festival and until 2:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights.
