Mac DeMarco Rolls Easy Through ‘Shining’ On ‘Colbert’

Mac DeMarco was the musical guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Thursday. The singer-songwriter performed “Shining” from his new album Guitar.
Guitar arrived on August 22 through Mac’s Record Label. DeMarco recorded and mixed the album himself. The auteur also created all the music videos and artwork.

“I think Guitar is as close to a true representation of where I’m at in my life today as I can manage to put to paper,” Mac DeMarco said of the new record. “I’m happy to share this music, and look forward to playing these songs in as many places as I’m able.”
One of those places was the Ed Sullivan Theatre for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Mac DeMarco selected Guitar’s opening track, “Shining,” for the performance. Watch below:
Mac DeMarco is indeed performing in as many places as he’s able. The singer-songwriter is in the midst of a massive world tour around Guitar which is heading to Berkeley’s famed Greek Theatre on September 20 before winging through Europe, Japan and South America.
