Mac DeMarco Shares New Single ‘On The Square’ & Covers Feist

Mac DeMarco shared the video for his new single, “On The Square,” which appears on his album coming out on Friday, Here Comes The Cowboy. A video of DeMarco covering fellow Canadian singer-songwriter Feist was posted by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
The 13-track follow-up to 2017’s This Old Dog was recorded in early-2019 by DeMarco at his Jizz Jazz Studios recording facility in Los Angeles. The record primarily features DeMarco’s instrumentation with his touring band mate Alec Meen providing additional keyboards. Directed by William Sipos and Sean Campos and starring Tommy Midnight, the “On The Square” video can be seen below:
During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show DeMarco recorded a cover of Feist’s “One Evening” for the program’s “Cover Room” series. Watch the backstage performance here:
