Update 5/16: Video of the collaboration has surfaced thanks to YouTube user TheMSTaper. Watch “The Show Goes On” below.
Chicago jam rockers Umphrey’s McGee were joined by fellow Chicagoan rapper Lupe Fiasco during the former’s set at Hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Umphrey’s and Lupe collaborated on the rapper’s “The Show Goes On” from his 2011 album Lasers.

UM’s set kicked off with an exploratory “Puppet String” before moving onto segment that saw them play “Day Nurse” followed by “Glory” sandwiched inside of “Plunger.” The title track to their 2014 LP Similar Skin came next with “40’s Theme” coming after. Guitarist Brendan Bayliss acknowledged the passing of B.B. King before welcoming Fiasco to the stage for “The Show Goes On.” It was the debut performance by UM of the song that relies heavily on a sample of Modest Mouse’s song “Float On.” “Miss Tinkle’s Overture” and the single from their most recent album The London Session, “Bad Friday” closed out their festival set.
