Veteran singer-songwriter Loudon Wainwright III was the musical guest on Tuesday’s episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. The 77-year-old delivered a take on one of his classic songs for the episode and recorded an online-only bonus performance as well.
Introduced as one of host Stephen Colbert’s favorite artists, Wainwright’s performance that aired on the late night talk show was of his song “A Father And Son.” Written for Wainwright’s singer-songwriter son Rufus Wainwright, the strikingly personal “A Father And Son” originally appeared on Loudon’s 1992 album, History.
