Lotus will release Citrus, a new EP, independently on April 6. The livetronica quintet previewed the seven-track EP with its lead single, “Phantom Tooth.”
Citrus was recorded at Spice House Sound in the band’s hometown of Philadelphia during the same sessions that yielded the group’s 2020 album, Free Swim. Lotus will unveil a new Citrus track each Tuesday throughout the month of March.

“Citrus is the chill-out session to the Free Swim pool party,” noted bassist/producer Jesse Miller. “The music is more downtempo, drawing from 70s space-funk, rock and West African music. We’ve never played these songs live before, but I think they will feel like old favorites.”
Jesse is joined in Lotus by his brother, multi-instrumentalist Luke Miller as well as drummer Mike Greenfield, guitarist Mike Rempel and percussionist Chuck Morris. “Phantom Tooth” sounds straight out of the ’70s with analog synth, a meaty guitar solo and pulsating beat.
