Lotus further detailed their Halloween Weekend plans. The band, which is partially based in Denver, will head to The Fillmore Auditorium in the Mile High City on November 2 — along with special guests Moon Hooch — where they will pay tribute to The Flaming Lips with a production dubbed “Psychedelic Robot Battle at the Gates of Hell.”
Lotus also shared a new single, “Leave A Little Room For Jesus.” The track features a contribution from former The Motet vocalist Jans Ingber. “It’s an honor to collaborate, without a care of genre, on a song that has some teeth,” Ingber told Live For Live Music, who premiered the new song.
“This track goes back to 2014 when we were writing for our album Eat the Light,” Lotus bassist Jesse Miller shared. “I wanted to ride the line between a Motown groove and something that sampled one of those grooves. Classic sounds like Rhodes, a triangle and conga percussion groove, and thinned out rhythm guitar slowly grow to include synths and dub effect treatments.”
