Los Lonely Boys Preview 1st New Album In 11 Years ‘Resurrection’ With Anthemic Single

Los Lonely Boys will release their first studio album in 11 years, Resurrection, on August 2 via BMG. The brotherly Texican rock ‘n’ roll trio previewed the record with lead single, “Wish You Would.”

Resurrection follows Los Lonely Boys’ 2013 LP, Revelation. The trio — guitarist Henry Garza, bassist Jojo Garza and drummer Ringo Garza — captured the new record at Henry’s studio in the brothers’ hometown of San Angelo, Texas, and at Sonic Ranch (Fiona Apple, Bon Iver, Snarky Puppy) in Tornillo, Texas near El Paso. Chris Geli mixed the album in Chicago at Opus Audio Labs.

Los Lonely Boys pay their respects to Texas legends like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Freddy Fender on Resurrection while also showcasing “the sonic fire that bonds the Los Lonely Boys brotherhood,” as per a press release.

Jojo Garza shared his thoughts on Resurrection and album opener “Wish You Would.”

“It’s something we think people need to hear—especially the youth. When we’re young, we think we have it figured out. When you get older, you start to see things differently. Having kids of our own, we see their ambitions and ideas of what they want to be, so we want to be good parents. The message is, ‘Be careful what you wish for. There could be a false light, and we don’t want you to get hurt.'”

2024 also sees Los Lonely Boys celebrating the 20th anniversary of their self-titled debut album, which contained the ubiquitous 2004 hit, “Heaven.” While Resurrection is the band’s first album in 11 years, the trio has continued their road warrior ways in that time and will be hitting the road across the U.S. once again in 2024 including dates with Los Lobos.
