Lord Huron shared a new single, “Long Lost.” The song will land on the Los Angeles-based folk-rockers’ upcoming album of the same name, set for release on May 21 via Whispering Pines Studios Inc./Republic Records.

Lord Huron heralded Long Lost in February with the single “Not Dead Yet” which arrived a month before the LP’s official announcement in March, deepening the mystique surrounding Lord Huron’s follow up to 2018’s Vide Noir. Long Lost is haunted by the omnipresence of the mysterious folk figure, Mr. Tubbs Tarbell, who appears in the band’s accompanying web series, Alive From Whispering Pines.

The mystery has been somewhat lifted however with the recent release of a letter from Mr. Tarbell as well as with the lyric video for the newly released title track, which was described in a press release:

The new tune hinges on cinematic strings, dusty tambourine, and soft acoustic guitar before transmitting a dreamy vocal. It nods to Spaghetti Western soundtracks and fifties pop in equal measure, as though Roy Orbison and Ennio Morricone finally got around to collaborating. Meanwhile, the accompanying music video further opens the window onto the expanding world of the album.
