New York-based rock duo The London Souls and Bay Area funk rock act Con Brio will so set out on a tour together. The pair of bands have shared a split 7-inch single prior to their upcoming run of co-bills.
Con Brio bassist Jonathan Kirchner and The London Souls’ drummer Chris St. Hilaire have known each other since their days growing up in Huntington, New York. The two bands will share a series of six dates together beginning on August 18 at Ardmore Music Hall in Ardmore, Pennsylvania.
“We kind of came up with the idea to co-release something, and we always wanted to tour together but we live on opposite coasts, so it wasn’t ever convenient,” St. Hilaire told Billboard. “We finally worked it out and decided to release something behind it.”
Premiered by Billboard, The London Souls contribution was their track “Certain Appeal,” which originated during recording sessions for the 2015 LP Here Comes The Girls. Con Brio recorded their recently penned original “All Over Me.”
“We’re very big fans of (the London Souls) and respect their crowd so much and their ability to captivate the audience,” Con Brio frontman Ziek McCarter told Billboard. “We’ve shared many stories with those guys. I think everybody that buys a ticket is definitely going to enjoy what comes off stage from both bands.”
