Lockn’ Collaborations To Include String Cheese & The Gang

Today, Lockn’ Festival organizers have announced additional artists and collaborations set to take place at this year’s event, which will be held at Oak Ridge Farm in Arrington, VA from September 4 -7.

New York-based quartet Tauk and New Orleans funk outfit Dumpstaphunk have been added to the festivities as has an acoustic performance from Taj Mahal. In addition, Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi will play a special Friday evening acoustic set at the Triangle Stage. The biggest news in today’s announcement is that String Cheese Incident will present a tribute to Kool & The Gang on Thursday night that will feature former Kool & The Gang lead vocalist, James “JT” Taylor, along with the horns of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. This special performance has been dubbed “String Cheese & The Gang.”

Tickets for Lockn’ are available now via the festival’s website. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Furthur, Phil Lesh & Friends, Bob Weir & RatDog, Umphrey’s McGee and Widespread Panic are among the acts set to play this year’s installment.
