Little Feat Kicks Off Fall Tour 2019

Little Feat opened the fall leg of their 50th Anniversary Tour on Monday night at the State Theatre in Minneapolis. As announced, Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams filled in for Paul Barrere who is off the road while he undergoes treatment for liver disease.

The lineup in Minnesota featured original member Bill Payne on keys joined by 1972 additions percussionist Sam Clayton and bassist Kenny Gradney as well as drummer Gabe Ford, multi-instrumentalist Fred Tackett, Campbell, Williams and the Midnight Ramble Horns. Little Feat began their set and tour with a run of classics “Spanish Moon,” “Time Loves A Hero,” “Rocket In My Pocket” and “Day Or Night.” Next up was a take on late founding member Lowell George’s solo cut, “Honest Man.”

Little Feat continued the set with “Rooster Rag,” the title track from their 2012 studio album and “Church Falling Down” from the same LP. It was then back to “the hits” for “Sailin’ Shoes,” “Fat Man In The Bathtub,” “Willin’,” “All That You Dream” and a well-jammed “Dixie Chicken.” The group ended the set with “Let It Roll” and tacked on an encore featuring “Oh! Atlanta” and “Feats Don’t Fail Me Now.”
