Lieber Guitars Creates Guitar Inspired By Jerry Garcia’s Tiger

Guitar designer and luthier Tom Lieber worked alongside fellow instrument maker Doug Irwin in developing Grateful Dead founding member Jerry Garcia’s famed Tiger guitar. The last instrument played in public by Garcia is the inspiration of a new guitar created by Lieber Guitars that celebrates the 50th anniversary of 1967’s Summer Of Love.

Made from maple and cocobolo wood, the 1967-2017 Summer Of Love / Tiger guitar also sports DiMarzio pickups and a Garcia OBEL electronics package. Lighter than Jerry’s 13.5 pound Tiger, the Summer Of Love guitar weighs in at around nine and half pounds.

Complete details of the 1967-2017 Summer Of Love / Tiger guitar and options for ordering are available at the Lieber Guitars website. It was announced earlier this week that in May Garcia’s Irwin-designed Wolf guitar will be put up for auction with proceeds benefiting to the Southern Poverty Law Center.
