Leon Thomas weathered a snow storm in the Washington D.C. area to capture his Tiny Desk Concert debut, which arrived today. The musician brought his blend of R&B and hip-hop to NPR HQ, performing songs from his latest studio album, MUTT, and more.
Leon Thomas has a background in Broadway, as a Nickelodeon network actor and as a member of the production duo the Rascals. Thomas released his debut solo LP, Electric Dusk, in 2023 and now follows with MUTT.

Thomas (vocals/guitar) and his excellent band — Chris Payton (guitar), Ali Roots (keys), Joe “Jough” Cleveland (bass), Quintin “Q” Gulledge (drums), TK (background vocals), Ayana Layli (background vocals) and Sha’Leah Nikole (background vocals) — kicked off the Tiny Desk session with MUTT’s “VIBES DON’T LIE.”
The group continued with “YES IT IS” and “MUTT” before getting into material from Electric Dusk with “Breaking Point” and “Treasure In The Hills.” Watch Leon Thomas’ Tiny Desk Concert below:
