Leon Bridges On ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’

Fresh off an appearance as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live, soul singer Leon Bridges filled the same role on last night’s episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Bridges performed a cover song on the program as well as web-only bonus original.

For the show Bridges performed the host’s “Favorite Sam Cooke song” – a hit Cooke had as a member of The Soul Stirrers – “Jesus Gave Me Water.” Watch the performance featuring vocalist Brittni Jessie alongside Bridges:

Though backed by a slightly different group than on SNL, Bridges was again supported by White Denim guitarist Austin Jenkins for a bonus performance of “Twistin’ & Groovin” from his Grammy nominated debut LP, Coming Home. Watch the web- only video:
