Jamgrass favorites Leftover Salmon unveiled a new single, “Powder Day,” to coincide with the start of their 2024 Ski Tour. The run focusing on mountain towns near the slopes begins at Knotty Pine in Victor, Idaho this Friday, January 19 and Saturday, January 20.

“Powder Day” is the first new music from Leftover Salmon since the release of their latest studio album, Grass Roots, last May. The song was penned by banjoist and friend of foxes Andy Thorn.

“I wrote this song because I couldn’t believe my luck — I’d joined a band that tours the best ski towns in the West,” explained Thorn. “For a North Carolina kid with big powder dreams, it’s been a dream come true. But sometimes, when a big ski day rolls right into soundcheck and showtime, you need a little boost. This song helps me remember: the next powder day is always on the way.”

Leftover Salmon will follow this weekend’s two-night stand in Idaho with 2024 Ski Tour dates in Colorado, Utah, Nevada and California. The trek concludes in Sebastopol, California on March 17.
