LCD Soundsystem unveiled the surprise single “X-Ray Eyes” yesterday in an interesting fashion. The track was premiered on Australia’s NTS Radio and can be streamed below.
“X-Ray Eyes” marks James Murphy & Co.’s first release since issuing “New Body Rhumba” in 2022. “New Body Rhumba,” which was the group’s first new music following their 2017 LP American Dream, appeared on the soundtrack of Noah Baumbach’s film, White Noise.

“I have a very, very, very special exclusive for you,” NTS Radio host Anu said in introducing the track on her “Soup To Nuts” program. “LCD Soundsystem are back with a brand new track, and I’m going to premiere it right now.”
“X-Ray Eyes” has feel of a classic LCD Soundsystem song such as “Losing My Edge.” Murphy sings of having “eyes that can see through your disguise” and “can see inside” over a groovy beat. The tune includes plenty of synth and is extremely catchy. Anu added the song “will be dropping soon.”
