LCD Soundsystem Returns To Stage For The First Time Since 2011

Shortly after 10 p.m. last night, New York City’s own LCD Soundsystem returned to the stage for the first time since April 2, 2011. The newly reunited band stuck to classics for a 14-song performance at their “Back From The Dead” concert at Webster Hall in NYC on Sunday.
James Murphy & Co. kicked off the show and reunion with “Get Innocuous!” from 2007’s Sound Of Silver. The evening’s only real hiccup occurred next, when technical difficulties stopped the band’s performance of “I Can Change” in its tracks. LCD’s Nancy Whang was having issues with a custom-built synth and upon cutting the song short said, “This is why we have warm-up shows” as per Brooklyn Vegan’s report.
LCD Soundsystem went on to perform a mix of songs from their three studio albums as surprisingly they didn’t unveil any of the new material they are said to working on. The group loaded the main set with fan favorites including “Daft Punk In Playing At My House,” “Us V Them,” “Losing My Edge” and “Home.” Following the main set, the band came back to the stage as the capacity crowd chanted “L! C! D!” for a two-song encore of “Dance Yrself Clean” and “All My Friends.” LCD Soundsystem returns to Webster Hall for another “Back From The Dead” performance tonight.
