LCD Soundsystem To Make ‘Saturday Night Live’ Debut

Those paying close attention to last night’s episode of NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live might have noticed the announcement of the guest host and musical guest for the May 6th episode of the show. New York City’s own LCD Soundsystem will finally make their SNL debut next month.

LCD Soundsystem recently completed a series of five sold-out shows at Brooklyn Steel, the borough’s newest venue. James Murphy & Co. premiered a handful of songs that will likely appear on their long-awaited follow-up to 2010’s This Is Happening. It will be interesting to see whether they perform any of the new songs on Saturday Night Live or stick with older material. Actor Chris Pine will host the episode.
