LCD Soundsystem Full Set At Primavera Sound 2016

In March, James Murphy brought back LCD Soundsystem for the dance-rock band’s first shows after a blowout goodbye concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City in April 2011. The reformed band has gone on to appear at several major festivals since reforming this spring, and this week’s edition of Full Show Friday focuses on their appearance at Primavera Sound 2016 in Barcelona, Spain.

Murphy and his mates played twice at this year’s installment of Primavera, playing a set on May 31 and again on June 2. Below is pro-shot footage of the band’s June 2 set at Parc del Fòrum. Drawing almost exactly equally from their three full length releases, the set kicked off with “Us v Them” from their 2007 sophomore effort Sounds Of Silver and continued with the standout from their 2005 self-titled debut “Daft Punk Is Playing At My House.” The third song of the set drew from 2010’s This Is Happening via a rendering of “I Can Change.”

From there the set took off with favorites like “Yeah,” “Losing My Edge” and “New York, I Love You But You’re Bringing Me Down.” A pair of This Is Happening tracks – “Dance Yrself Clean” and “All My Friends” brought the 14-song set to a close.
