LCD Soundsystem Covers Prince At Coachella

By Andy Kahn Apr 23, 2016 7:21 am PDT

Last night, LCD Soundsystem headlined the first night of the second weekend of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival at Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. James Murphy and crew took the opportunity to pay tribute to Prince, who passed away earlier this week, by covering one of his songs.

LCD Soundsystem offered largely the same set as last weekend’s performance, opening with “Us v Them” and “Daft Punk Is Playing At My House.” A couple songs later they launched into a cover of “Controversy,” the title track to Prince’s 1981 album. The set progressed with more LCD favorites, before closing with a cover of David Bowie’s “Heroes” which they debuted live last weekend and their original “All My Friends.”
