LCD Soundsystem Confirms Completion Of New Album

In early-2016 when James Murphy confirmed the return of LCD Soundsystem in a Facebook post, the frontman also stated a new album was being recorded. While the promise of a follow-up to 2010’s This Is Happening didn’t happen last year, Murphy has now confirmed recording of the band’s fourth studio LP is complete and the record will be out “soon.”

Murphy once again shared an update on the album via post on Facebook. With “just some art stuff” left to finish, the message states it likely won’t be long before the record is issued, though “6 weeks is the very fastest.”

The message describes the process of putting the final touches on the currently untitled album whose final song was mixed last week. The new LCD Soundsystem album will also be the last recorded at the original DFA Studios, where Murphy has made music for nearly 20 years but is being moved following the sale of its building. Two new LCD Soundsystem singles, “American Dream” and “Call The Police,” were issued earlier this month.
