Larkin Poe Announces New Album ‘Bloom’ & Shares Swamp Stomp Single ‘If God Is A Woman’

Larkin Poe confirmed a new album, Bloom , due out on January 24, 2025 via the duo’s Tricki-Woo Records. Guitarist Rebecca Lovell and steel guitarist Megan Lovell also shared the single, “If God Is A Woman.”

Bloom follows Larkin Poe’s Grammy-winning 2022 album, Blood Harmony, which nabbed the award for Best Contemporary Blues Album. The new record was co-produced and largely co-written by Rebecca, Megan and Rebecca’s husband Tyler Bryant.

“Bloom is about finding oneself amidst the noise of the world,” Rebecca said of the new 11-track LP.

Megan added that Bloom is “about wholeheartedly embracing the flaws and idiosyncrasies that make us real. In one way or another, pretty much all of the songs on this album are about finding yourself, knowing yourself, and separating the truth of who you are from societal expectations.”

Larkin Poe previously shared the Bloom cut, “Bluephoria,” and now follow with “If God Is A Woman.”

“Defying expectation requires great effort,” Rebecca said of the band’s latest single, “but the cathartic joy of deeper self-discovery is worth the struggle. ‘If God Is A Woman’ was written as a reminder to resist the typecasting of women, both conscious and unconscious. There are many shades of existence and we had fun painting abstract with this sardonic blues.”
