One of the festivals affected by Bob Weir cancelling all upcoming dates was the Lockn’ Festival, which was supposed to host a pair of performances from RatDog as well as the season’s lone Furthur set. Today, Lockn’ organizers have revealed their plan to replace Weir.

Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann will lead a performance dubbed “Bill Kreutzmann’s Locknstep Allstars” on Friday. The “Allstars” will be revealed over the next few days. In addition, funk revivalists Lettuce have been added to the Thursday  lineup.

“When we found out that Bob Weir wouldn’t be able to make it this year, we decided to keep it all in the family by asking his brother Bill to join us at Lockn’. We are all looking forward to the premiere of Bill Kreutzmann and the Locknstep Allstars. For those of you who are curious just what Locknstep is, join us in September and we’ll all find out together,” Lockn’ co-founder Peter Shapiro explained via his Relix.com website.

Lockn’ 2014 takes place between September 4 and 7 at Oak Ridge Farm in Arrington, VA featuring the likes of Phil Lesh & Friends, Wilco, The Allman Brothers Band, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and Umphrey’s McGee. Tickets are available via the event’s website.
